Friends & Family Test Results

Patients were asked “How likely are you to recommend our GP practice to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?”. This helps us to understand what we are doing right and what we can improve.

Last month patients told us:

Patients are also asked "What would have made your visit better?".  Some of the comments made:

"I honestly can't think of anything, I was really pleased with my telephone appointment today as I am whenever I've had an appointment with you."

"You're doing an excellent job in these uncertain times. Well done."

"Given the situation we are in, I think it was all very well thought out and organised. I can't think of anything you could change."

"Nothing. The consultation was extremely professional, efficient and prompt. Both doctors were very approachable and made me feel completely at ease."

"That other surgeries were as polite, efficient, quick and effective as yours!"

You told us:

"Clear signage from bottom of steps indicating that you need to step into the vestibule to announce presence."

We have introduced new signage outside on a board explaining how to check in while the door is closed.  The board also has current information about services so please have a read if you are passing!

"Please provide a shelter and chairs outside for patients waiting to be seen."

We appreciate that waiting outside in the rain is not ideal but unfortunately we are not able to provide a shelter or chairs which would need cleaning after each use.  Patients should arrive as close to their appointment time as possible and we try to get patients in and seen as quickly as we can.  Please come prepared for the weather in the same you would when you go anywhere else and if you arrive by car you can return to it to wait inside after you have checked in.

"To get my medication every month without filling in prescription requests."

We are no longer accepting paper prescription requests so all patients are being encouraged to register for online services so that you can request repeat prescriptions at the touch of a button. If you have not yet registered please speak to Reception and ask them for online login details.  You will be given a login and password (which you change when you first log in) and you will then be able to request repeat prescriptions without having to come into the surgery.

We often have comments about appointments being late.  If your clinician is running late please bear in mind the variety of possible reasons for this:

  • The appointment time is 10 minutes which includes calling the patient in, carrying out the consultation and examination and writing up the notes before seeing the next patient.  Patients who have more than one problem they would like dealt with are encouraged to book a double appointment.
  • The clinician may have had to deal with an unexpected emergency.
  • A particularly unwell patient may need extra time to discuss their condition or diagnosis.
  • The clinician is not able to see another family member during a consultation as this leads to delays. Please book a separate appointment for each person.

We are sorry if you are kept waiting but please be patient. Remember that it may be you or a family member needing extra time on another occasion.
